According to a report by The Indian Express, the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) was marred by a surprising burglary incident where the kit bags of Delhi Capitals' players were targeted, resulting in the theft of bats, pads, and other equipment.
According to details, it was discovered that the items went missing while the Capitals team was traveling from Bengaluru to New Delhi via transit, and the players were informed about it after their kit bags were delivered to their rooms.
The stolen items mainly consisted of bats, with David Warner and Phil Salt losing three each, and Mitchell Marsh losing two. Yash Dhull, a young player from India, was a victim of five stolen bats.
Report further added that a complaint has been filed regarding the incident. In addition to bats, several players also reported the theft of their shoes, gloves, and other items.
“All of them were shocked when they heard that everyone had lost something or the other from their kit bags. This is the first time such an incident has happened and the matter was soon raised to the logistics department, police and later at the airport. The investigation is on,” said a DC source.
