Former Australian Test cricketer and commentator Michael Slater has been sentenced to four years in prison.

According to Australian media, Slater pleaded guilty to seven charges, which included allegations of domestic violence.

The case was heard in the Maroochydore District Court in Queensland. During the hearing, the court noted that Slater had struggled with alcohol abuse and had also faced difficulties with rehabilitation.

Reports indicate that Slater has already served more than a year of his sentence behind bars.

It is worth mentioning that the charges against Slater, including domestic violence, were first brought forward in late 2023.
