A case has been filed against 90 individuals, including former Bangladesh national cricket team captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, for allegedly attacking students and the public during the anti-discrimination students' movement.

The case, which also names Mashrafe's father, Golam Mortaza Swapan, was filed by Sheikh Mostafa AL-Muzahidur Rahman Palash at Narail Sadar Police Station.

According to Saiful Islam, the officer-in-charge of the station, the incident occurred on August 4 during the quota reform movement. The case statement claims that Mashrafe, his father, and others, armed with weapons, held a rally at Narail intersection. When students, who were demanding Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation, reached the Russel bridge area, they were allegedly attacked by the group, leading to a clash.

The statement also alleges that gunshots were fired during the confrontation, resulting in injuries to several protesters. The case is now under investigation.
