Mahmud, who was elected to the role in 2013, had served multiple terms as a BCB director
Former captain of Bangladesh, Khaled Mahmud, has resigned from his position as Director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Mahmud, who was elected to the role in 2013, had served multiple terms as a BCB director. His resignation comes ahead of his current term's completion and is attributed to the recent political shifts within the board, particularly following the departure of former BCB president Nazmul Hassan.
During his tenure, Mahmud was a significant figure in Bangladesh cricket. He played a key role in the development of the sport, notably overseeing the Bangladesh Under-19 team’s victory in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2020, as the BCB's game development chairman.
Additionally, Mahmud served as interim head coach and team manager of the national team at various points.
Mahmud’s resignation is part of a larger reshuffle within the BCB, with several other board directors, including Jalal Yunus, Shafiul Alam Chowdhury, and Naimur Rahman, also stepping down.
