India's next ODI assignment is a three-match series against England scheduled for February, serving as crucial preparation before the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy
India lost their three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, marking the first time in 27 years that they were defeated by their neighbors in a bilateral ODI series.
After a drawn first ODI, India faltered in the subsequent matches, conceding the series to Sri Lanka.
Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer expressed apprehension about India's preparations for the upcoming 2025 Champions Trophy, highlighting concerns over the limited number of ODIs scheduled for the team ahead of the prestigious tournament.
“SL played better cricket and deserve the series win. It doesn't worry me that India lost a series. Wins and losses are part of the game. However, it's a point of concern that India has just 3 ODIs before the Champions Trophy,” Jaffer posted on microblogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
