Former cricketers predict outcome of India, Pakistan clashes in Asia Cup

Robin Uthappa has confidently predicted victories for the Indian cricket team in all three potential matches against Pakistan during the upcoming 2023 Asia Cup.

India and Pakistan are set to face off in a Group A encounter in Pallekele on Saturday, September 2nd. This clash might be followed by additional meetings in the Super Four stage and ultimately, the final showdown.

Expressing his views on the matter during an interview on the AakashVani show on JioCinema, Uthappa predicted a clean sweep of 3-0 in favor of India. However, he cautioned that these victories would not come without challenges, recognizing that the Pakistani team poses formidable competition for the Indian squad.

"They (Pakistan) are a very good side. Their personnel are very skillful, very talented. Having said that, so are ours (India's). I think it will make for two very good games and hopefully the third one as well," Uthappa said on AakashVani show on JioCinema.

"My prediction for the India-Pakistan games is always 3-0 to India. Having said that, they are not going to be easy games for the Indian squad."

RP Singh, another former India cricketer, noted that these matches between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup would serve as valuable preparation for the upcoming World Cup. He pointed out that Pakistan boasts a strong bowling lineup and is likely to field their strongest lineup, making these clashes significant opportunities for India to hone their skills and strategies.
