Former England opener Alex Hales has signed up for the much-anticipated 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the league announced on Sunday.

Hales, who played for defending champions Islamabad United in the previous season, has once again expressed his interest in the PSL. The 35-year-old has a wealth of experience, having represented England in 75 T20I matches, scoring 2,074 runs, which include 12 half-centuries and one century.

A familiar face in the PSL, Hales has played six seasons with Islamabad United and one season with Karachi Kings in 2020. Over 44 matches, he has scored 1,180 runs, including six fifties. However, his performance in the previous season was underwhelming, with only 148 runs in 10 matches at an average of 14.80 and a strike rate of 124.36.

In addition to his PSL experience, Hales has featured in various T20 leagues around the world, including the Indian Premier League (IPL), Big Bash League (BBL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), and International League T20 (ILT20).

Hales is the 17th foreign player to register for the PSL 10 draft, which will be held in Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025. He is also the seventh English player to sign up for the event.

The draft will see Lahore Qalandars make the first pick in the platinum category, followed by Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Sultans, and reigning champions United.
