Former Indian cricketer, Mohammad Kaif, has taken a swipe at the Pakistan cricket team, labeling them as "too soft" following their underwhelming performance in the ongoing 2023 World Cup.

While posting on social media platform 'X,'  Kaif pointed out that the team, led by captain Babar Azam and featuring key players Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf, appeared to be lacking in aggression on the field, contributing to their subpar showing in the prestigious ICC tournament.

"Somehow feel this Pakistan team was too soft, their pacers too nice. Wasim, Waqar, Shoaib were intimidating. They would stare at you, even sledge. Babar, Shaheen, Rauf - they lacked that aura, they looked too friendly," Kaif wrote.

It is worth noting that the Men in Green remained fifth in the ICC CWC 2023 points table. They secured four victories and suffered five defeats, ultimately being eliminated from the tournament after losing their final match against England on November 11.

In the 2023 mega-event, Haris Rauf had a disappointing campaign, emerging as the only bowler to concede the highest number of runs in World Cup history. He gave away 533 runs in nine matches while managing to take 16 wickets.

On the otherhand, Shaheen Afridi performed admirably by claiming 18 wickets in nine matches and currently stands as the joint third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
