Former India cricketer Piyush Chawla has identified Pakistan's middle-order batter, Salman Ali Agha, as the biggest threat for India ahead of their highly anticipated clash in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

In a recent interview, Chawla praised Agha's aggressive style of batting, which he believes can turn the game in Pakistan's favor. Agha’s explosive approach was evident in the recently concluded tri-nation ODI series, where he played a key role in Pakistan’s record-breaking chase against South Africa. Chawla also pointed out Agha’s vital performance in Pakistan’s opening match of the Champions Trophy, where he scored a quick-fire 42 off just 28 balls against New Zealand, despite the pressure.

"Salman Ali Agha is the biggest threat from the Pakistan team. He’s the kind of player who can change the course of a game on his day," Chawla said.

"He’s an attacking batsman, and we have seen what he is capable of. His century in the chase against South Africa was remarkable," Chawla added.

Despite recognizing Agha's abilities, Chawla backed India to have the upper hand in the much-anticipated match. He highlighted India's strong track record against Pakistan in ICC events and their impressive recent form.

"Based on current form, India has the edge. In ICC tournaments, especially in the one-day format, India has always performed well against Pakistan," Chawla noted.

"While Pakistan does have a slight advantage in the Champions Trophy, considering India's form and Pakistan's struggle against New Zealand, India has a better chance," he concluded.

The Pakistan vs India clash will be played tomorrow, Sunday, 23rd February, in Dubai.
