The series now moves to its second Test, scheduled from August 30 to September 3 at the same venue
Former Pakistan pacer Tanvir Ahmed has harshly criticized the Pakistan cricket team following their unexpected defeat to Bangladesh in the first Test of the two-match series in Rawalpindi.
Tanvir was particularly vocal, labeling the performance as disgraceful. He emphasized that Pakistan's lack of preparation and effort before the game led to their downfall.
"Pakistan is playing a domestic series, and in the second innings, the Bangladeshi bowlers completely dismantled our batting. This is what happens when you don’t put in the hard work. It’s disgraceful," Tanvir wrote on X.
It is worth noting that what initially seemed like a match heading towards a dull draw took a surprising turn on the final day, as Bangladesh’s spinners dominated the game. Pakistan, known for their unpredictability, collapsed for just 146 runs in their second innings, leaving Bangladesh a simple target of 30 runs to win. The visitors chased down the target comfortably within 6.3 overs, securing their first-ever Test victory over Pakistan—a historic achievement that bolsters their confidence ahead of the World Test Championship (WTC) final.
The series now moves to its second Test, scheduled from August 30 to September 3 at the same venue. Pakistan will need to win this match to level the series and finish on a high note.
