Former Pakistan fast bowler Sohail Tanvir has praised Babar Azam, calling him the "biggest brand" and "most celebrated star" in Pakistan cricket.

Speaking on a social media platform on Friday, Tanvir highlighted Babar’s unmatched popularity and consistent performances over the years.

Tanvir noted how fans in cities like Karachi, Multan, and Rawalpindi always cheer loudly when Babar walks onto the field. He believes this support is well-earned.

"Babar has earned this love and respect through years of consistent service and stellar performances for Pakistan," Tanvir said.

"He has made Pakistan proud globally and it is always a joy to see him scoring runs," he added.

The former left-arm pacer was especially impressed by Babar’s recent innings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 match against Lahore Qalandars at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday. In that match, Babar scored a vital 56 runs off 42 balls, including seven boundaries and a six.

Tanvir said the knock reminded him of the Babar Azam fans admire most.

"Watching him bat that day felt like witnessing the classic Babar Azam again. His strokes against pace bowlers were pure elegance — the kind of shots he is famous for," he added.

The 40-year-old added that the innings showed signs of Babar returning to his best form, with his timing and technique standing out once again.

So far in PSL 10, Babar has played five matches and scored 105 runs, with the 56 against Qalandars being his highest in the tournament.

Talking about the pitch at Gaddafi Stadium, Tanvir also gave his thoughts on its behavior.

"Gaddafi Stadium is known for its slow nature. You do not often find excessive pace here and that is what makes it a good batting surface if you apply yourself properly," he concluded.
