According to Qazi Jawad Ahmed, Director of Infrastructure at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the renovation work is progressing on schedule
Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium is in the final stages of renovation as it gears up to host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. The venue is expected to be ready in time for the prestigious tournament, set to take place from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
According to Qazi Jawad Ahmed, Director of Infrastructure at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the renovation work is progressing on schedule. The finishing touches are currently being applied to the first floor of the office building, while work continues on the other pavilion floors.
Ahmed also addressed concerns regarding the Far End Building, which has not been demolished but is undergoing refurbishment to match the updated design of the stadium. This section is expected to be completed within the next two weeks.
In addition, floodlight upgrades are on track, with one screen stand already installed and the second nearly finished. The seating renovation is also well underway, with imported white and green chairs, reflecting Pakistan’s national colours, set to be installed soon.
The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy will feature eight teams and 15 matches across three Pakistani cities. Pakistan will face New Zealand in the opening match in Karachi on February 19, followed by a much-anticipated clash with India on February 23 in Dubai. If India qualifies for the final, the match will be played in Dubai; otherwise, Lahore will host the final.
