India A struggled to build any momentum due to the regular loss of wickets
Australia A secured the T20 series against India A with a commanding eight-wicket victory, thanks to standout performances from debutants Grace Parsons and Nicola Hancock. The pair made an immediate impact, showcasing the depth of talent in Australian cricket.
Legspinner Grace Parsons, making her T20 debut, and fast bowler Nicola Hancock, playing her first game for Australia A, replaced Maitlan Brown and Tayla Vlaeminck in the lineup. Together, they delivered a remarkable bowling display, sharing seven wickets and conceding just 44 runs in their eight overs combined.
Parsons, a 20-year-old who plays for Brisbane Heat in the WBBL, was particularly impressive, taking four wickets. She claimed the crucial scalp of Priya Punia, who had been India's top scorer with 29 off 26 balls. Parsons then wrapped up her spell by taking two more wickets in quick succession, further denting India A's hopes.
Hancock, who joined the squad as a late replacement for the injured Courtney Sippel, struck early by dismissing Shweta Sehrawat with a well-directed delivery. Nicole Faltum took an excellent running catch to complete the wicket. Hancock's three overs were tight, conceding just 14 runs.
India A struggled to build any momentum due to the regular loss of wickets, especially during a tough period where they lost three wickets for just ten runs between the 11th and 13th overs.
Chasing a modest target, Australia A cruised to victory with ten balls to spare. Although they lost opener Katie Mack early, Tahlia Wilson anchored the chase with her second consecutive half-century. Captain Tahlia McGrath, who had been dismissed on the first ball in the previous match, made up for it this time with a flurry of boundaries, contributing to an unbroken 69-run partnership with Wilson to seal the win.
