Graham Clark held his nerve under pressure, smashing a six off the final ball to guide Northern Superchargers to a dramatic three-wicket win over Southern Braves in The Hundred 2025 at The Rose Bowl, Southampton, on Wednesday.

Chasing 140, the Superchargers needed 10 runs from the last five deliveries with Tymal Mills bowling the final set. Despite being hit for a boundary on the 97th ball, Mills gave no run in the next two deliveries, leaving Superchargers needing five off the last ball.

Mills bowled a slower ball outside off, but Clark read it perfectly and launched it over the leg side for the match-winning six. The right-hander top-scored with an unbeaten 38 off 24 balls, hitting three fours and a six.

Zak Crawley scored 29, while skipper Harry Brook and Mitchell Santner added 24 each in the tense chase. For the Braves, Craig Overton took three wickets, while Jofra Archer and Mills picked up two each.

Earlier, the Braves posted 139/5 in their 100 balls after being put into bat. Laurie Evans led the charge with 53 off 34 balls, including six fours and two sixes, while James Coles remained unbeaten on 49 from 36 balls. The pair added 87 runs for the fourth wicket after Jacob Duffy’s early burst reduced the Braves to 26/3.

Santner dismissed Evans and Hilton Cartwright (1) in quick succession, but Michael Bracewell (15*) partnered Coles to lift the total. Duffy finished with 3 wickets, and Santner claimed 2 for the Superchargers.

The win took Northern Superchargers to fourth in the table with eight points from three matches, while the Braves stayed third with the same points but a better net run rate.
