Afghanistan’s opening pair, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran, made T20 World Cup history by achieving their third 100-run partnership against Australia in Kingstown, St. Vincent on Sunday.

The only other duo to achieve this milestone across World Cup editions is Pakistan's Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who accomplished it over two tournaments (2021 and 2022).

Remarkably, Gurbaz and Zadran achieved all three century partnerships within the same edition.

Their partnership of 118 runs in the match against Australia also stands as the third-highest partnership ever recorded against Australia in T20 World Cup matches.
