Guyana Amazon Warriors announce squad for Global Super League 2024

The inaugural season of the much-anticipated Global Super League (GSL) 2024 is set to commence on November 26, running until December 7. This exciting new tournament will feature five teams from across the globe battling for a substantial prize pool of $1 million. The event, which will be held at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence, promises to be a thrilling spectacle for cricket fans, marking South America’s first standalone cricket event. The tournament is also officially sanctioned by Cricket West Indies (CWI).

In the lead-up to this highly anticipated competition, the Guyana Amazon Warriors have unveiled their 13-man squad, ready to compete for the title. The Warriors, who are no strangers to high-stakes tournaments, will be hoping to build on their excellent form from the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024, where they made it to the final but fell short against the St. Lucia Kings.

The GSL 2024 will feature a round-robin format, with 11 matches played in total. Each team will contest four games, with the top two teams advancing to the final. All matches will take place at the Guyana National Stadium, giving the Warriors a significant home advantage.

With a squad packed with international stars such as Imran Tahir, Moeen Ali, Shai Hope, and Shimron Hetmyer, the Warriors will be a formidable force in this inaugural season. Their previous strong performances, including topping the CPL 2024 standings and winning seven out of 10 matches, have placed them among the favorites to win the GSL 2024 title.
