Singh emphasized the unique challenges of facing Pakistan, noting that limited bilateral matches between the two nations make it a "tricky" encounter
Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has shared his insights on the highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan at the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup co-hosted by the USA and West Indies next month.
Scheduled to take place at the newly-built Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9, the match has garnered immense anticipation from fans worldwide.
In a recent interview with a local sports channel, Singh emphasized the unique challenges of facing Pakistan, noting that limited bilateral matches between the two nations make it a "tricky" encounter.
“At the end of the day, playing against Pakistan is always (tricky) as both countries do not play much against each other. We do not know much about their strong and weak zones but the Indian management keeps track of every player and their strong and weak zones,” Harbhajan said.
The former cricketer also delved into the bowling department, acknowledging Pakistan's bowlers' mental and physical resilience.
“In the bowling department too, Pakistan bowlers keep themselves mentally and physically strong. These aspects will be taken care of by the Indian team. These things will come into play when both sides will battle it out on the field,” he said.
The Men in Green will play their last series before the World Cup against the defending T20 World Cup champions, England. This four-match T20I series is scheduled to start on May 22nd.
Pakistan's journey begins in Dallas, where they will take on co-host USA on June 6, followed by matches against India on June 9 and Canada on June 12 in New York. Their final league match against Ireland is slated for June 16 in Florida.
