Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has responded to a recent incident where a heated exchange with a fan garnered widespread attention on social media platforms.

Taking to the platform 'X', formerly known as Twitter, Rauf addressed the incident, emphasizing the importance of respecting personal boundaries.

"I decided not to bring this on social media, But now that the video is out, I feel it is necessary to address the situation. As public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of feedback from the public. They are entitled to support or criticize us. Nevertheless, when it comes to my parent and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions," Haris posted.

Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hafeez also weighed in on the matter via 'X', expressing his support for Rauf and urging fans to respect players' personal boundaries.

"Fans should know how to respect the boundaries between personal & professional life of a cricketer. These are basic ethics & a humble request," Hafeez posted.

The incident occurred following Pakistan's exit from the 2024 T20 World Cup in the USA. A video circulating online shows Rauf in a heated exchange with a fan. Accompanied by his wife, Rauf appears visibly furious as he charges towards the fan, despite attempts from those around him to intervene.

The confrontation escalated as Rauf, undeterred by his wife and friends' efforts to hold him back, jumped over bushes to confront the fan face-to-face. In the process, his footwear came off, but this did not deter him from continuing his approach.

Despite his wife's and an official's attempts to calm the situation, their efforts proved futile. The fan eventually walked away, leaving the scene behind.
