Haris Rauf emerged as Pakistan’s only in-form bowler, prompting head coach Aaqib Javed to include him in the ODI squad
Fast bowler Haris Rauf, who impressed with his performance in the T20I series, has been included in Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, starting March 29.
According to sources, following a request from the team management, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approved Haris Rauf’s extended stay in New Zealand.
Initially, when the squad for the New Zealand tour was announced after the ICC Champions Trophy, Haris Rauf, alongside Shaheen Shah Afridi, was not included in the ODI team. However, following his strong performance in the T20I series, Rauf emerged as Pakistan’s only in-form bowler, prompting head coach Aaqib Javed to include him in the ODI squad.
Along with Rauf, a wicketkeeper batter will also be kept with the team in New Zealand. The decision on whether Mohammad Haris or Usman Khan will be included in the ODI squad is still pending.
The first ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played on March 29, followed by the second match on April 2 and the third on April 5. Mohammad Rizwan will lead Pakistan in the ODI series.
