India has advanced to the final of the Women's Asia Cup 2024 with a dominant 10-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the first semi-final. The Indian bowlers put on an impressive performance, limiting Bangladesh to just 83 runs.

Bangladesh struggled from the start, with eight of their batters scoring in single digits. Captain Nigar Sultana was the only one to resist, scoring 32 runs off 51 deliveries, but it wasn't enough to build a competitive total.

Pacer Renuka Singh was outstanding, taking the early wickets of Dilara Akter, Murshida Khatun, and Ishma Tanjim. Spinner Radha Yadav took over in the middle overs, claiming three wickets and dismantling Bangladesh’s batting lineup.

After the match, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur praised the bowlers for their excellent performance. She acknowledged the pressure the team faces due to high expectations but expressed satisfaction with their performance. Harmanpreet emphasized the importance of keeping things simple and encouraged her players to express themselves on the field.

"Our bowlers did a great job. Whatever we spoke in the team meeting, they did the same. Really proud of the way they are bowling. A lot of pressure on us because we have been dominating Asian cricket. For us, things are simple. We want to go out there and express. We prepare ourselves hard in the nets,” Harmanpreet said.

Reflecting on the team's journey, Harmanpreet highlighted the positive attitude and innovative ideas within the squad. She stressed the importance of consistency and praised her team for their continuous improvement.

"Every day, they are coming up with positive approaches. They are coming up with nice ideas. They are giving me confidence. They are always there for the team. (Improvement) Consistency is something which is very important for us,” she further added.

India will face Sri Lanka in the final, scheduled for July 28 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
