The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been tasked with the responsibility of replacing Shaheen Afridi for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022.

In light of the latest developments, Hasan Ali has been identified as the prime candidate to replace Shaheen Afridi who has been advised 4-6 weeks rest by the PCB Medical Advisory Committee.

It is worth adding that the independent specialists also came to the same conclusion after reviewing Shaheen's latest scans and reports.

The left-arm pacer has led Pakistan's bowling attack from the front and losing him will significantly impact Pakistan's chances of progressing in the Asia Cup 2022.

The pacer picked up the injury during the series against Sri Lanka. Despite resting him in the series, the problem has persisted and now Shaheen will be out of action for almost two months.

Shaheen will also miss out on action against England in T20I format on homesoil.
