Senior pacer Hasan Ali has been in the news for the decline in bowling form because of his role in playing XI.

The 27-year-old more or less became a liability in the recently concluded Australia series across formats. He missed the first Test due to injury and returned to the side for the final two Tests.

He took only two wickets at an average of 96, while in the first ODI, he conceded runs at an economy of seven. He was dropped from the side for the final two ODIs which Pakistan won.

Skipper Babar Azam opted to include him over Shahnawaz Dahani in the final XI for the only T20I but his performance was unsatisfactory again, conceding 30 runs in the three overs.

In a tweet, while thanking Australia for embarking on the historic tour of Pakistan, Hasan Ali admitted that his performances have been below par, thanking captain Babar and well-wishers for the immense support.

"Thankyou Team Australia 🇦🇺 for visiting Pakistan," Hasan tweeted.

"Also, I am well aware that my recent performance has been below par. Here, I would like to thank my captain #BabarAzam & all the fans for supporting & believing in me I will come back stronger inshAllah," he added.
