Hassan Ali's County Championship form continues after T20 Blast heroics

Hassan Ali had a remarkable start in the County Championship on Sunday, following his impressive performance in the T20 Blast match on Friday. In the County Championship game against Essex, he demonstrated his skills by taking the crucial wicket of former England Test captain Alastair Cook.

Hassan has been in exceptional form throughout this year's Championship, already claiming 23 wickets in six games. His impressive tally was further enhanced by his outstanding ball against Cook. He delivered a full ball from an angled line, specifically targeting the left-handed batsman. Cook decided to let the ball go, assuming it would miss the stumps. However, the ball caught the outer edge of his bat, resulting in a subtle deflection that carried through to the wicketkeeper, Michael Burgess.

In the T20 match against Worcestershire on Friday, Hassan once again showcased his bowling prowess. Despite defending a formidable target of 229 runs, he bowled economically and effectively, conceding only 22 runs in his four overs, claiming two crucial wickets during his spell.

Hassan unleashed a swinging yorker that proved too much for Kashif Ali, leading to the ball crashing into the stumps. With his first wicket of the match secured, Hassan then returned to dismiss Ed Pollock, to further demoralize Worcestershire, as they lost their ninth wicket and saw their target slipping even further away. The right-arm pacer’s performance helped Warwickshire win by 53 runs and secure a place in the quarter finals of T20 Vitality Blast.
