The eight teams advancing to this year's Super Eight stage will also secure berths in the 2026 T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

This guarantees places for Australia, South Africa, India, West Indies, Afghanistan, and USA. In addition to these six teams, two more teams that advance to the Super Eight will also qualify for the 2026 competition.

Following the rules, the Super Eight participants and the tournament hosts automatically qualify for the next event, meaning Sri Lanka will be part of the 2026 edition as co-hosts. Therefore, a total of nine spots are already confirmed.

In total, 12 teams will gain automatic entry into the 2026 tournament. This includes the eight Super Eight teams, the co-hosts (Sri Lanka), and the remaining top-ranked teams that didn't qualify for the Super Eight stage.

Pakistan, currently ranked seventh in the ICC rankings with 241 rating points, and New Zealand, ranked one spot above them with 247 rating points, are likely candidates to secure two of the three remaining automatic spots for the next tournament.

If England, ranked fourth with 256 rating points, fails to qualify for the Super Eight, they too will automatically qualify for the 2026 tournament along with New Zealand and Pakistan.
