The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will introduce Player Tracking Technology, aiming to take the fan experience to the next level.

This advanced technology will offer ball-by-ball tracking of players’ movements on the field. It will monitor key elements such as fielder positions, bowler run-ups, and batting stances, providing detailed insights throughout each match.

The collected data will be used to generate real-time graphics during broadcasts, helping fans better understand various aspects of the game. The technology will also allow for in-depth analysis of fielding zones, scoring areas for batters, ball-catching techniques on dismissals, and tactical field placements based on players’ strengths and weaknesses.

Speaking about the development, PSL CEO Salman Naseer said the league has always focused on innovation since its launch in 2016. He called the addition of Player Tracking Technology a big step towards improving the overall viewing experience.

“The HBL PSL has always embraced innovation, and with the introduction of Player Tracking Technology in its upcoming edition, we are taking a step forward in enriching the fan experience,” Naseer said.

“Our goal has always been to deliver world-class coverage. Player Tracking Technology is another step towards making the HBL PSL a benchmark for modern cricket broadcasting,” he added.

The 10th edition of the PSL will begin on Friday, April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United taking on two-time winners Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The tournament will feature six teams and a total of 34 matches from April 11 to May 18. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 matches, including the two Eliminators and the grand final. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will host 11 matches, including the first Qualifier on May 13. Karachi’s National Bank Stadium and Multan Cricket Stadium will each host five matches.

Additionally, the tournament will feature three double-headers, with two scheduled for Saturdays and one on Labour Day (May 1).
