The Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met Office) has said that heavy downpour is expected during the upcoming Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in Rawalpindi on Friday and Saturday. 

According to a press release issued by the Met Office a westerly weather system is likely to enter upper parts of the country on Thursday evening and likely to persist till Saturday.

“Wind-thunderstorm with rain (few hailstorm) is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Sahiwal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi-Bahuddin, Gujrat, Sialkot during Friday and Saturday,” the press release said.

“Rain with dust raising winds/dust storm may also likely in D.G Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar on Friday,” it added. “PSL matches on Friday & Saturday at Rawalpindi are likely to be disturbed.”

Lahore Qalandars will face Peshawar Zalmi on Friday while the latter will lock horns with Islamabad United on Saturday at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Both matches will start at 7pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
