Islamabad United is set to replace Irish opener Paul Stirling with England all-rounder Liam Dawson for the Lahore-leg matches of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season seven.

The 31-year-old Stirling will leave on February 7 for national duty after playing four more matches for United. He made a brilliant start to his HBL PSL 7 campaign, scoring 57 runs in just 25 balls against Peshawar Zalmi.

Liam Dawson will join the two-time HBL PSL champions and will be available for the selection in Lahore-leg matches, which will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium from February 10. Dawson has previously represented Peshawar Zalmi.

The replacement has been approved by Event Technical Committee, which is headed by Zakir Khan (Director – International Cricket Operations), and includes Nadeem Khan (Director – High Performance) and Sameer Khosa.
