Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Quetta Gladiators have announced that they will be retaining Will Smeed and will be included in the squad as Dan Lawrence's replacement.
Smeed was initially brought into the team as a replacement to James Vince. However, his arrival means that Smeed will now be filling in for another absentee instead.
The opening batter has featured in three matches for the Gladiators where he has managed scores of 97, 30, and 3.
Quetta Gladiators are currently struggling with form as they sit fifth on the points table, having delivered some very unconvincing performances.
Jason Roy has recently joined the Gladiators' squad and with WIll Smeed being retained, Quetta can look to mix things up and change the way they have approached this year's campaign.
The Sarfaraz-led team will face Lahore Qalandars tomorrow and it remains to be seen how Quetta approaches the repairing job.
