Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick whereas Quetta Gladiators will pick last
The draft phase for the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will take place on December 12 and Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick.
The PCB had earlier confirmed that the marquee tournament will start late in January 2022, instead of its conventional slot of February-March.
Source claim that the PSL 7 will kick off from either January 26 or January 27. However, the final date is yet to be finalised.
The PSL franchise owners also agreed to the tournament being held in January because Emirates Premier League (EPL) is also set to commence in January-February, where the management remains keen on the involvement of Pakistani players.
Following the PSL, the players can then participate in the debut season of the EPL.
It was anticipated that PSL 7 draft might follow the auction model but sources have confirmed that the draft phase will not see any changes for the 2022 season.
Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick during the draft phase. Here is the complete pick order:
1st Pick — Lahore Qalandars
2nd Pick — Multan Sultans
3rd Pick — Karachi Kings
4th Pick — Islamabad United
5th Pick — Peshawar Zalmi
6th Pick — Quetta Gladiators
