Amir clarified that there were no underlying issues between them and emphasized the respect Babar has always shown him
Left-arm pacer, Mohammad Amir, was recently questioned about the perceived tensions between him and Pakistan's current captain, Babar Azam.
In response, Amir clarified that there were no underlying issues between them and emphasized the respect Babar has always shown him.
"Babar was my junior when I was playing for Pakistan, and he has always respected me," Amir stated in an interview with a local TV channel.
Amir further added a touch of sarcasm to his statement by joking, "Babar is not my ex-fiance that I won't like him."
Amir also clarified his previous statement regarding Babar, saying that he never called the Pakistan captain an average player or a tailender.
"I have always said that he is a great batter in Tests and ODIs. In T20s, I have a different opinion related to him. As a bowler, I don't see Babar as threatening in T20 format," he concluded.
