South Africa registered a stunning victory over New Zealand in the second Test match to deny the hosts a series victory.

After an innings and 276 runs defeat, South Africa had a lot on the line going into the second Test match. With significantly improved batting standards, South Africa set a 426-run target for the hosts to chase.

New Zealand, however, fell 198 runs short of the target. Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen, and Keshav Maharaj picked up three wickets each in the fourth inning of the match.

Pacer Rabada was named as the player of the match as he had picked up a five-for in the first inning as well.

Following South Africa's victory, here is how the updated ICC Test Championship points table stands:

The top three remain the same but South Africa have moved up to the fourth position while Indian remain fifth and New Zealand sixth.

With Pakistan hosting the Australian cricket team, the points table can significantly look different at the top once the three-match Test series is concluded.

Pakistan play the first match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on March 4. The remainder of the Test squad players participating in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) final have also teamed up with the training camp to continue their training ahead of the series.
