The New Zealand batter has been replaced on the field by Mark Chapman
New Zealand batter Kane Williamson will not be fielding during the whole India's innings in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final.
The New Zealand batter has been replaced on the field by Mark Chapman due to an injury.
Williamson sustained a quad strain while batting, scoring 11 runs off 14 balls in a brief 19-minute stint at the crease. He was dismissed in the 13th over when he was caught and bowled by Kuldeep Yadav.
Following Williamson’s dismissal, New Zealand posted a total of 251/7 in their allotted 50 overs, setting India a target of 252 runs to win the Champions Trophy final. At the end of 18 overs, India are 103/0.
The injury has forced Williamson to step off the field, with Chapman coming in as a substitute fielder for the rest of the match.
