Karachi Kings captain refused to mention anything about the Zalmi captain
Karachi Kings captain, Imad Wasim, has dismissed the notion that his team was too focused on targeting Peshawar Zalmi captain, Babar Azam, in the lead up to the eighth edition of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Karachi Kings suffered their third consecutive loss in HBL PSL 8, after their six-run defeat against Quetta Gladiators on Saturday.
In the post-match press conference, Imad was asked whether his team got distracted by the much hyped contest against Zalmi. However, the Karachi Kings captain refused to talk about the Zalmi captain.
"It is not like that. Everything that comes on media, sometimes it true, sometimes it is not. I don’t want to talk about Babar, because the way our team is playing, we need to focus on results," Imad said.
"We are unable to finish the games, which is one of the biggest factors [for our defeats]. Secondly we are not bowling well at the death. We just need one win to get the momentum and turn things around," he added.
Karachi captain also came out in support of his left-arm pacer, Mohammad Amir, who has been recently criticised by former Pakistan captain, Shahid Afridi, for his on-field behaviour against emerging players.
"A fast bowler should be aggressive. I don't think he does anything intentionally, it happens in heated moments," he said.
"As far as there is no objection on him by match officials, I don't have any issue," he added.
The all-rounder is ready to fight till the end for his franchise.
"As a captain, I am not under pressure at all. Whether we lose or win, I can assure you that we are not going to give up till we are knocked out of the tournament," he concluded.
