Pakistan registered their first-ever victory against India in an ICC-hosted event in the recently concluded T20 World Cup, which saw Australia lift the trophy for the first time.

The tone of the highly-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan was set by Shaheen Shah Afridi, who knocked over both Indian openers in the space of 2.1 overs.

In a podcast interview with the BBC, Ramiz Raja claimed that he gave Babar Azam pointers on how to get Rohit Sharma out before the national team left for the World Cup.

"Babar Azam was here with the Chief Selector before leaving for the World Cup and I asked him what are your plans against India," inquired Ramiz.

"I have plans and we employ Cricviz and they do the matchups," Babar responded.

"I understand but India will also be using Cricviz and then they will have a ploy set up against you. So, that becomes nothing for us," Ramiz said.

Explaining the plan to Babar, Ramiz highlighted how Rohit has struggled against left-arm pacers as seen beforehand with Mohammad Amir.

"I can tell you how to get rid of Rohit Sharma right now and Babar was intrigued. I said get Shaheen Afridi bowling at 100mph, get a man at short-leg and a 45. Just bowl that inswinging yorker at 100mph and do not give him a single and keep him on strike. You will get him out," explained Ramiz.

Pakistan went on to register a comprehensive 10-wicket victory over India after restricting them to 151-7 after 20 overs in the first innings.
