After Pakistan’s victory against both India and Afghanistan collectively, the team and country are both in high spirits. When team captain Babar Azam was interviewed by India’s former head coach at the post-match presser, Ravi Shastri, the two shared a rather awkward but funny moment.

In the Asia Cup 2022 Super Four match, the cricketing world watched Naseem Shah hit back-to-back sixes, ultimately winning the match. One can’t help but compare his exploits to those of Javed Miandad’s when he hit a glorious six in 1986’s Austral-Asia Cup, defeating the Indian team.

Proud Captain Babar Azam, who was naturally happy with his team’s efforts, drew this comparison while chatting with Ravi Shastri.

The Miandad Connection brought up memories no Pakistani or Indian cricket fan can ever forget, which prompted the former head coach – and one of the bowlers that fateful day, to give a quick comeback.

"Main tha woh din wahan, shukuriya yaad dilane k liye.” (I know, I was there that day. Thanks for reminding me).

Babar Azam (on Naseem Shah's sixes): "He was outstanding. Reminded me of Javed bhai, the way he scored that six that day (in 1986), got repeated today"

Ravi Shastri: "I was here that day, thank you yaad dilane ke liye!" 😅https://t.co/LXRAtF4s9F pic.twitter.com/kkG55ICMB3
