Quetta Gladiators captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed, is hoping to cash in on his rich vein of batting form, as he plans to come up the order for his franchise in the upcoming eighth edition of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).

While speaking in a media interaction on Thursday, the Karachi-born cricketer said he wants to lead from the front and set an example with the bat.

“I will be batting at number three or four this season for Gladiators and will try to give my best for the team,” said Sarfaraz.

The wicketkeeper-batsman was hopeful of a better performance by his franchise, after failing to qualify for playoffs in last two seasons.

“We are hopeful of a better overall effort by the team. We are lucky to have many talented players in our squad this season. We have good combination of local and foreign players,” he added.

Multan Sultans will host reigning champions Lahore Qalandars in the opening match on 13 February, while Peshawar Zalmi will travel to Karachi where they will take on Karachi Kings on 14 February.
