In the wake of significant structural changes within Pakistan cricket following the Cricket World Cup, former West Indies cricketer and renowned commentator Ian Bishop has expressed his hope for a revamped era in Pakistan cricket, emphasizing the necessity for consistent performances.
Taking over his social media platform, Bishop highlighted his desire to witness a Pakistan team that consistently performs at its peak potential.
"Shake-ups happening in Pakistan cricket post Cricket World Cup. My wish is that it ushers in an era where we get to see a Pakistan team that performs “more consistently” to their full potential," Bishop wrote on X.
The West Indian legend expressed his aversion to the prevailing perception of the Pakistan cricket team as unpredictable, capable of defeating any opponent on a given day but failing to maintain consistency in their performances.
"As a West Indian, I hate the “can beat anyone on their day” tag. Everyday matters," he further added.

It is worth noting that the recent shakeup in Pakistan's cricket leadership has sent ripples through the cricketing world. Babar Azam who led the team as captain, made the surprising decision to step down from his role. Following Babar's departure, Shan Masood was appointed as the new Test captain, while Shaheen Shah Afridi was entrusted with the responsibility of leading the T20 side.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Hafeez assumed the role of director, bringing his wealth of experience to guide the team from a managerial position. Additionally, Wahab Riaz took on the crucial role of chief selector, aiming to shape and strengthen Pakistan's cricketing future through astute player selections.
