The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the prize money for the Champions Trophy.
According to the ICC, the total prize pool for the event has been increased by 53% compared to the last edition, and now a total of 6.9 million dollars will be distributed as prize money for the tournament.
The winner of the Champions Trophy will receive 2.24 million dollars, while the runner-up team will be awarded 1.12 million dollars.
Each team will earn 34,000 dollars for every group match they win, while the two teams losing in the semifinals will each receive 560,000 dollars.
The teams finishing in 5th and 6th place will be awarded 350,000 dollars, and the team finishing in 7th place will get 140,000 dollars.
Additionally, each team will receive 125,000 dollars for participating in the event.
The ICC Champions Trophy will be hosted by Pakistan from February 19 to March 9.
It will kick off at the National Stadium in Karachi on February 19, with Pakistan facing New Zealand in the opening match.
