ICC announce Women's T20 World Cup 2024 team of the tournament

The ICC has revealed the Team of the Tournament for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup, recognizing standout performers from the thrilling competition. South African opener Laura Wolvaardt, who captained her side to a strong campaign, has been named captain of the star-studded team.

Wolvaardt is joined at the top of the order by her compatriot Tazmin Brits, with England’s Danni Wyatt-Hodge completing a formidable top three. Amelia Kerr, the dynamic all-rounder from New Zealand, and India’s veteran skipper Harmanpreet Kaur add strength to the middle order. Both played critical roles in guiding their teams through the tournament.

West Indies’ explosive hitter Deandra Dottin makes the cut, contributing with her destructive batting and all-around ability. Nigar Sultana of Bangladesh earns the wicketkeeper's spot, showcasing her sharp skills behind the stumps and vital runs with the bat.

The bowling unit is headlined by spinner Afy Fletcher from the West Indies, along with New Zealand’s Rosemary Mair and Australia’s experienced seamer Megan Schutt. Completing the lineup is Nonkululeko Mlaba, the South African left-arm spinner, who delivered consistent performances throughout the tournament.
