The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the match officials for the highly anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 final, which will see India and South Africa face off at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday.

In their respective semi-finals, South Africa secured a dominant victory against Afghanistan, winning comfortably by reaching the target in just 8.5 overs after bowling out Afghanistan for a mere 56 runs.

India, on the other hand, claimed a comprehensive win over England, restricting them to 103 runs after setting a target of 172. Key performances came from Rohit Sharma, who top-scored with 57 runs, and Suryakumar Yadav, who contributed a solid 47 runs.

For the final, the ICC has appointed experienced officials to ensure a smooth and fair contest. Richard Illingworth and Chris Gaffaney will serve as the on-field umpires. Richard Kettleborough will handle duties as the third umpire, while Rodney Tucker will be the fourth umpire. Kettleborough's absence from the on-field umpiring roles may be seen as a relief for Indian fans, given his history of officiating in six knockout matches involving India, all of which ended in losses for the Indian team.
