This delay reflects ongoing challenges in resolving tensions between the two cricket boards
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has once again postponed its scheduled board meeting on the Champions Trophy, citing unresolved differences between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Sources reveal that India has rejected PCB’s proposed formula, leading to a continued deadlock. As a result, the PCB has reportedly urged the ICC to convene the meeting only when a resolution is within reach.
“The PCB has made it clear to the ICC that the meeting should only be held when a decisive outcome is possible,” insiders said.
The PCB maintains that the ICC should secure a final response from India before proceeding with discussions. The next meeting is now set to take place on December 7, 2024. Today's session was deferred due to the lack of an official reply from the BCCI.
It is worth noting that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had traveled to Dubai earlier this morning to attend the meeting.
This delay reflects ongoing challenges in resolving tensions between the two cricket boards, which have significant implications for the future of the Champions Trophy.
