The International Cricket Council (ICC) has denied recent reports claiming that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to remove Pakistan's name from their jersey for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

An ICC official clarified that it is a requirement for all teams to display the official tournament logo on their kits, which includes the host country's name. "It is the responsibility of every team to add the tournament logo to their jerseys. All teams are obligated to comply with this rule," the ICC source stated.

The clarification comes after Indian media reports suggested that the BCCI planned to omit Pakistan’s name from Team India’s jersey. The ICC also made it clear that any team failing to display the logo correctly would face strict action.

Traditionally, all teams participating in ICC events wear jerseys featuring the host country’s name, even if the actual matches are played elsewhere. This practice is part of the tournament's branding efforts.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) rejected these reports, calling them unfounded, and confirmed that no official from the board had discussed the matter with any Indian media outlet.

This statement from the ICC comes amid ongoing tensions between the PCB and BCCI, with cricket being caught up in political issues. Earlier, the Indian government decided not to send its team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, leading the ICC to adopt a hybrid model where India will play its matches in Dubai instead.
