The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the nominees for the Men’s Player of the Month for December 2024. The list features three standout performers who delivered exceptional performances during key matches in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) campaign.  

Pat Cummins (Australia) 

Australian skipper Pat Cummins led from the front during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, helping his team secure a spot in the ICC World Test Championship 2025 Final. Cummins impressed with both ball and bat, taking 17 wickets in three Tests at an average of 17.64.  

His best performance came in Adelaide, where he claimed 5/57 to power Australia to a 10-wicket victory. Additionally, his crucial contributions with the bat—scores of 49 and 41 in Melbourne—helped Australia clinch another win.  

Jasprit Bumrah (India) 

Jasprit Bumrah was India’s star performer in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, earning the Player of the Series award. The ace pacer picked up 22 wickets in three Tests at an incredible average of 14.22.  

Bumrah’s standout performances included two nine-wicket hauls in Brisbane and Melbourne, keeping India competitive throughout the series. His efforts also earned him the highest rating points by an Indian bowler in the ICC Test Player Rankings.  

Dane Paterson (South Africa) 

South African seamer Dane Paterson played a vital role in his team’s qualification for the WTC25 Final. He delivered match-winning performances against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, taking 13 wickets in two Tests at an average of 16.92.  

Paterson’s figures of 5/71 against Sri Lanka and 5/61 against Pakistan were instrumental in securing victories for South Africa, ensuring their place in the WTC Final.
