Khwaja currently serves as an Associate Member Director on the ICC Board
The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board has confirmed the reappointment of Imran Khwaja as Deputy Chair, with his new term set to begin on December 1, 2024. Khwaja, who has been part of the ICC Board since 2008, has held the Deputy Chair role since 2017.
In addition to his Deputy Chair responsibilities, Khwaja currently serves as an Associate Member Director on the ICC Board. He was re-elected to this position during the ICC Annual Conference held in July 2024.
Alongside Khwaja’s reappointment, the ICC Board has implemented a key constitutional change affecting leadership terms. The Board approved a recommendation to limit both the ICC Chair and Independent Director to a maximum of two terms of three years each, replacing the previous rule of three terms of two years. The overall six-year maximum remains unchanged.
