Cricket Ireland has formally addressed the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding their concerns over the treatment of the men's team during their stay in New York, USA for two matches of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Ireland played their matches at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium but unfortunately lost both games.

In their letter to the ICC, Cricket Ireland expressed dissatisfaction with the hotel arrangements provided for the Irish team. Originally scheduled to stay closer to the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Long Island, their accommodations were relocated to Brooklyn just two weeks before the tournament began. The new hotel was situated 90 minutes away from the stadium, significantly inconveniencing the team.

The proximity issue affected the team's preparations severely, leading to the cancellation of at least one training session due to the long commute between Brooklyn and the stadium/training facilities. They also faced difficulties in fulfilling media obligations, attempting to cancel a pre-match press conference because one player had to travel from Brooklyn to Long Island solely for press duties.

Despite their efforts, Ireland exited the T20 World Cup 2024 early without a single victory. They suffered defeats against Pakistan, USA, and Canada, while their match against India was abandoned due to rain.
