Each team will play two warm-up matches, giving them a chance to fine-tune their strategies before the main event
The warm-up matches for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 have been announced and will take place from 28 September to 1 October in the United Arab Emirates. These games will serve as crucial practice for the ten teams that have qualified for the tournament.
Each team will play two warm-up matches, giving them a chance to fine-tune their strategies before the main event. These matches will be 20 overs per side but will not carry official T20 international status. This allows teams to field any of their 15 squad members, giving them flexibility in their preparations. Importantly, no teams from the same group will face each other in these warm-up games.
In the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, Group A includes the defending champions Australia, alongside India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Group B features England, South Africa, West Indies, Scotland, and Bangladesh.
The warm-up schedule kicks off on 28 September with Pakistan playing against Scotland, and Sri Lanka taking on Bangladesh. On the following day, Australia will face their long-time rivals England, while India will go up against the 2016 champions West Indies.
These matches will provide a valuable opportunity for all teams to adjust to the conditions in the UAE and finalize their line-ups before the tournament begins.
