The prize money for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 has been officially revealed, with a total of 7.958 million US dollars up for grabs.
The winning team will secure a grand sum of 2.34 million US dollars, while the runner-up will take home 1.17 million US dollars. Semi-finalists are set to receive 675,000 US dollars, with group stage winners earning a bonus of 31,154 US dollars per win.
This year's prize pool has seen a significant increase of 225%, reflecting the growing stature of women's cricket globally.
The trophy tour for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup has also been finalized for Pakistan. The coveted trophy will arrive in Lahore tomorrow, September 18, before moving to Multan. There, it will be showcased during the second T20 match between the Pakistan and South Africa women's teams, offering a moment of pride for the host nation.
The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 will kick off on October 3 in the United Arab Emirates. All ten participating teams will receive a base prize of 112,500 US dollars, with those finishing in fifth to eighth place awarded 270,000 US dollars, and the ninth and tenth place teams receiving 135,000 US dollars.
Notably, the prize for the tournament winner has been boosted by 134%, as has the runner-up's reward. The prize for semi-finalists has increased by 221%, while group match winners will see a 78% rise in their payouts.
