This victory marks New Zealand's first World Cup title in limited-overs cricket, a significant achievement considering their recent struggles before the tournament.
In recognition of their success, New Zealand received a prize of ₹19.6 crore (USD 2.34 million), a remarkable 134% increase in prize money compared to previous tournaments. Runners-up South Africa were awarded ₹9.8 crore (USD 1.17 million) for their impressive performance throughout the competition.

Both semi-finalists, Australia and the West Indies, will receive ₹5.7 crore (USD 675,000) each. Meanwhile, teams finishing fifth to eighth in the group stage, including India, are expected to get ₹2.25 crore (USD 270,000) each. India secured four points in Group A, while England finished with six points in Group B but did not make it to the finals.
This victory was especially sweet for New Zealand as it coincided with the men's team winning their first Test match in India in 36 years. Overall, it was a momentous day for New Zealand cricket, showcasing the talent and determination of both their men's and women's teams.
