Pakistan's consecutive defeats in the series has dropped them to sixth place, while England's impressive run under Ben Stokes has elevated them to fifth. India remains in fourth place behind Australia, South Africa, and Sri Lanka in the rankings.
In a two-match away Test series against Bangladesh this month, they will have the opportunity to improve their standing.
