Iftikhar stressed that adopting an "attacking mindset" could elevate Pakistan's performance
Pakistan all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed has recently voiced his thoughts on the changes needed in Pakistan’s cricket strategy to compete with top-tier teams like India, Australia, and England.
In a conversation on a YouTube channel, the 34-year-old stressed that adopting an "attacking mindset" could elevate Pakistan's performance.
When asked what sets world-class teams apart, Iftikhar pointed out, "Australia, England and India, in my opinion, have a mindset of playing attacking cricket whether they are batting or bowling, which is why they are so dominant. In my opinion, the Pakistan team needs to adopt such attacking strategies in their play otherwise we will not be able to beat the bigger sides in world cricket."
Following Pakistan’s 2-0 Test series defeat at home against Bangladesh, the team faces England in an upcoming three-match Test series. Pakistan will also tour Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa for white-ball matches later this year.
Their recent loss has significantly affected their chances of qualifying for the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) final.
